Al Lodhi

Ali Lodhi is an industrialist by profession and entrepreneur who has established himself in the fields of plastics, metals, telecommunications, and international trading. He began his career in Pakistan as a manufacturer of copper cable for both domestic and international markets. He moved to Canada in 1974 to further his education in finance. After completing his education at New Brunswick College, he went on to develop his entrepreneurial skills in computer technology, hospitality, and travel services.

A Canadian citizen, Al contributes actively to many community activities. He was instrumental in obtaining provincial and federal funding to build the first Asian Community Centre in the province of New Brunswick in 1979. Over the years, he has arranged many functions to showcase Asian poets, writers, activists, singers, and other artists. He constantly strives to improve Middle East & Asian image in Canada and North America.

As a Rotarian, he has devoted many volunteer hours to the collection of donations for overseas charitable and development initiatives in Russia, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Kashmir.

As the Education Chairperson for The Society of Plastic Engineers, he has given lectures to students and many charitable organizations on recycling and its impact on the environment.

Al has a keen interest in international politics, especially in the political process of his home country of Canada and the country of his birth Pakistan. He and his family have played an important role in educating numerous members of Canada’s Parliament about Asian values and culture. In his role as advisor to Members of Parliament. He accompanied Paul Bonwick and Senator Marcel Prud'homme on their visit to Pakistan, in December, 1999.

Al is a socially conscious, politically pro-active, hardworking entrepreneur who in his spare time enjoys cooking, gardening, squash, golf, and many outdoor activities.

Al possesses a B.Sc in Mathematics and Physics from Karachi University in Karachi Pakistan. He also holds a B.A in Business Administration (Accounting) from New Brunswick Community College.

Professional Membership also include the Society of Plastic Engineers (1997-98 education Chairman ) and Society of Management Accounting.

Al has travelled extensively to countries including USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Dominican Republic, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Ukraine, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, N. Korea, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Israel, Syria, Jordon, Kenya, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan to name few.
